LA Hacienda


TARGET
Analog photography, art direction, and graphic design for a limited photo zine called LA Hacienda, which documents Mosaic Distribution’s business trip to Los Angeles. The main task was documenting this trip in a journalistic, visually appealing manner and to create a physical medium that can later be sent to the key partners as a gift.
STRATEGY
Focusing on memories we made during this Californian road trip, I strategically decided this project should be executed fully analog — in regards to the photography, as well as the final medium: a classic DIY zine, straight from the office color printer instead of glossy high resolution. Both decisions led to a well-received result, giving each limited copy a handmade, non-reproducible character that makes you reminisce about the precious time spent together.
CONCEPT
This 20-page manifesto was entirely shot on Kodak color and Agfa black and white films that were processed and then digitized through scanning. I executed the entire art direction, created a custom LA Hacienda logo identity, and designed the zine’s layout, before a limited batch was printed at home on 80g/m² matte office copy paper — simply because its texture resonates so well with the desired DIY attitude.
